Catching up

Vacation was a curious mix of being busy and semi-vegetating. I finally made a start on the EGN Photo Blog, which will hold all the historical photos, and which will be much easier to maintain. I have a few volunteers to scan in and touch up those photos that are non-digital. Christmas was nice. . . . → Read More: Catching up

Holiday fun

Sort of a quiet day today. James came over and we walked Hecate and hung out. Going to Mom’s for Christmas. I found an old pair of pet angel wings that I had on Hecate who seemed puzzled, but bemused. I got a few holiday cards today from friends which made me feel . . . → Read More: Holiday fun

Catching up and much geek stuff

A relatively nice day off. I had to be up early to let the subcontractor install the new storm door. They were even there early. Alas, the door frame is slightly out of whack, so there may be problems, but for now, I can actually close the door. It has been bugging me for . . . → Read More: Catching up and much geek stuff

A semi-productive Sunday and flat tire

It was nice being able to sleep in on Sunday. I had been hoping to get more done that I actually did. I was able to update the web site with the content from the January issue, so that will be set to go. Dummy me noticed while changing the cat box that I . . . → Read More: A semi-productive Sunday and flat tire

3 cats in repose

I was up late last night, and walked by the dining room as all 3 cats were sitting on the table, as if they were posing for a photo. So I took one. Puck is on the far left, looking off into the distance. That’s Miss Kitty with her eyes closed looking like . . . → Read More: 3 cats in repose

Newsletter done and Solstice

I stayed home last night, and finished off the newsletter to send off to the print shop. Yay and done. Hecate still sits under the desk when there is someone here. I discovered that rawhide is not good for puppies, so when going up to get the completed copies of the newsletter, I stopped . . . → Read More: Newsletter done and Solstice

Another puppy pic

Hecate seems to be getting very quickly adjusted. I gave her the remains of a bowl of ice cream I had last night after saying “Sit!” She sat right away, so I am guessing that is a behavior that dogs are very prepared to do. She isn’t sleeping through the night yet, but . . . → Read More: Another puppy pic

New puppy is named Hecate Sable

I thought about it for a while, and I decided to name the new puppy Hecate Sable. Hecate is an underworld goddess who was associated with dogs, and also with Hermes. She got a much darker reputation as time went on, but basically a crone/wise woman sort of moon goddess. I should probably . . . → Read More: New puppy is named Hecate Sable

Morgaine’s passing, new puppy

Not such a great day here. Morgaine’s health had been declining. I could pretty clearly see her vertebrae, hips and almost all the other bones under her fur. Her abdomen was distended again. Within the past few days, her paws had started to become enlarged, and she seemed to be having trouble walking. . . . → Read More: Morgaine’s passing, new puppy

Pets on the couch

So, I was working out this morning and had the couch pushed back against the bookcase. It used to be the case that 2 of my 3 cats (Annabelle and Miss Kitty) sort of lived in terror of the dog. Morgaine wasn’t mean, just overly enthusiastic. Things have settled down, but it was . . . → Read More: Pets on the couch
