How annoying! In the middle of the day yestreday, my throat started feeling scratchy, and I think I definitely have a sore throat/cold coming on. (In some ways, I am so boring and predictable, it's not funny.) It doesn't seem really bad, so I am trying to just take it easy. Today I am also going in for a lipid profile. I wasn't sure where things were going last night, but I feel like since I had to fast this long, I don't want to waste it. Between the sore throat and the wind/rain banging the outside door open, not much sleep either.
Tonight's Erie City Council meeting will feature a vote on a resolution in support of the Erie County Human Relations Commission. I really feel th4e need to go to this, especially since last night I got an email from someone I knew who felt that he had been fired for being gay. Since County Executive Rick Schenker has left the compliance officer position unfilled, I had to tell the person that they had no way to investigate the claim or resolve it. Even if the case weren't valid, at least if it could be investigated, the person could move on. Schenker has effectively left us in limbo.
I did some early work with the photoblog for the 2003 Erie Pride Weekend, but it isn't quite ready for public yet. The set up was less work than I thought. Fun learning new stuff.
James came over last night, and we watched The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. Fun and slighly trippy. I was struck by what a strong and centered character the transsexual played by Terence Stamp was. ("There. Now you're fucked." with a hair smoothing after kneeing a potential rapist in the privates.)
Oh well, off to get the oil levels checked...
