An amusing letter to the editor in today's Erie Times News. For almost 17 years now, I have worked at ECCA, but not in the payroll department. The City of Erie has a rather antiquated payroll system, and Mayor Rick Filippi has been pushing to update this with software and etc from ECCA and Kubinski (another provider.)
Anywho, the person writing the letter laments the mayor sending business to "out of town" firms. (He also suggests maybe using QuickBooks and Excel to handle a payroll of 900 people.)
Apparently, the intricacies of checking a phone book to determine that both firms are right here in Erie was too cognitively complex for this sterling individual to master. So basically, he shot off that the mayor was sending business out of town, when it wasn't the case at all. Heck, the full name of the company is Erie Custom Computer Applications.
