Well, if there was any doubt about summer being over, we got it last night. After James and I walked Morgaine, we turned in. Fall was officially heralded by having 3 comforters on the bed. One of my 3 cats, Miss Kitty (AKA k’Itty Q’at – she arrived years ago when I was involved . . . → Read More: Officially Fall

Okay, this is fluff. I read the newspaper every day, having gotten into the habit when I was a newscarrier from th ages of 13-20. (See, this newsletter thing is just another link in a long chain.) Over breakfast, my eyes happened to rest on an obituary for a local man who had died. . . . → Read More: “Well Known” Snake Handler

Sunday was the normal “get chores done” sort of day. Always satisfying to feel like one has accomplished something. In addition to the domestic stuff, I have been meaning for quite some time to re-do the Resources page on the Erie Gay News web site. Basically I have slowly been putting more and more . . . → Read More: Geek stuff and a friend does a cameo on Frasier, and twisted cartoons

Today, the Erie Times News ran a letter to the editor I sent in about the Erie County Human Relations Commission (HRC.) I still feel that the move by County Executive Rick Schenker to turn it into some kind of public relations mouthpiece is just an incredibly bad idea. Previously, I had made reference . . . → Read More: Yet more HRC stuff & the press release

Oy! I have read the press release from James Terrill that had info from Rick Schenker about changing the role of the Erie County Human Relations Commission from an agency that actually locally enforces anti-discrimination laws to basically a “Wow! Saturday, James and I went to celebrate Mabon (fall equinox to those of you who are non-Pagans) at an Open Circle. Very nice spending time with the other folks from the coven. I haven’t been as active with Pagan stuff for a while, but it felt good to connect. The High Priestess read a . . . → Read More: HRC, Mabon and too much stuff!

Bear in mind that i may be somewhat spacey from finishing the latest Erie Gay News last night and also hosting a friend who crashed on his way to an SCA event. Shortly about to nap. So, another Saturday with some dancing. James and I went to the US Amateur Ballroom Dancers Association exposition . . . → Read More: Yet more dancing and German Festival pic

Agape Press, which seems to be one of the journalistic arms of the American Family Association, has an article here about the Erie County Health Department having been involved with the recent Erie Pride Weekend. They also got whacked out because David Greer, a member of President Bush’s Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS and a . . . → Read More: AFA Whack Jobs

Doing the Happy Dance, according to an article here, Berkely Breathed is going to bring back his delightful creation Opus the penguin in a Sunday only strip on November 23. Very much joping that the Erie Times News carries it. Opus was terrifically sweet and naive and nerdy fun. Yay!
