Hey there!

Deadline for issue cover dated October 2009 is next Monday, September 14. Release date is Tuesday, September 22.

Please send in calendar events, news items, and other info for late September 2009 and beyond by next Monday, September 14. We expect that the next print edition will come out on Tuesday, September 22.

If you are writing an article for Erie Gay News, please try to keep it to 500 words or less; we generally try to have most articles be a page or less. (250 words is a half page, which is also a good length.)

If you have anything happening in late September, 2009 (or even later-we can always add items to the internal calendar for later listing), please get it to us by next Monday. Please always bear in mind the "6 week" rule; if you are having a special event that you want to let folks know about, you need to get us the details (even preliminary/tentative is okay) 6 weeks before the event takes place.You can find an extensive list of upcoming deadlines and distribution dates at http://www.eriegaynews.com/printedition/deadlineschedule.php. Print and Banner ad info/rates

All prepaid display ads receive a 10% discount. Ad copy should be submitted by about the 15th of the month before the ad runs. Full page ad ( 7 1/2" tall by 6" wide) $160 or $144 prepaid
Half page ad ( 3 1/2" tall by 6" wide or 7" tall by 2 7/8" wide) $90 or $81 prepaid
Quarter page ad ( 3 1/2" tall by 2 7/8" wide) $50 or $45 prepaid
Eighth page ad (1 5/8" tall by 2 7/8" wide) $30 or $27 prepaid. This is 82% the size of most business cards.

All prices are per issue. Our circulation is about 3000. We first began publishing in January of 1993.

We can use high contrast B&W camera ready art or lay out an ad. We have a graphic designer on staff with over 30 years worth of experience.

We layout in Adobe InDesign CS3 under Windows Vista. We can take any file format that it accepts. We have had the best results with PDF or files. Please contact us for info about formats. The print edition is in black and white, but we do publish a color version online as a PDF.

We also offer text only classified ads at $10 for each 30 words, and $5 for every additional 15 words. Classified ads must be prepaid and do not qualify for a discount.

In addition to print edition ads, we also offer web site banner ads. Our domain gets about 12,000 unique visitors per month, 30,000 visitors and 550,000 hits.

Checks should be made payable to "EGC Coalition" and mailed to 1115 W 7th St, Erie PA.
